IAUP اتحادیه بین المللی متشکل از مدیران ارشد دانشگاهها و موسسات آموزش عالی از سراسر جهان است. عضویت در این اتحادیه محدود به افرادی است که به عنوان ریاست یا معاون دانشگاه ها و کالج های معتبر و برتر دنیا خدمت می کنند. هدف و ماموریت اصلی اتحادیه بین المللی روسای دانشگاهها تقویت و بالابردن کیفیت آموزش و پرورش موسسات آموزش عالی در سراسر جهان، است. همچنین مأموریت IAUP شامل ارائه دیدگاه جهانی در مورد آموزش عالی، حمایت از شبکه های موثر بین رؤسای دانشگاهها و ترویج صلح و درک بین المللی از طریق آموزش است.

از شرکای IAUP انجمن های دانشگاه ها و کالج های آمریکا، شورای آموزش و پرورش آمریکا، انجمن دانشگاه های مشترک المنافع، انجمن دانشگاه های آسیا و اقیانوس آرام، آکادمی هنر و علم جهانی، انجمن دانشگاه های اروپا، انجمن بین المللی دانشگاه ها، وزارت اطلاعات عمومی سازمان ملل متحد، اتحادیه بانک جهانی تحقیق برای توسعه، یونسکو،اتحادیه دانشگاه های مدیترانه ای و دانشگاه های استرالیا می باشد.

رئیس دانشگاه کاکاسوس گرجستان (پروفسور کاخا شنگلیا ) در تاریخ 8 ژوئیه سال 2017 به عنوان رئیس اتحادیه بین المللی دانشگاههای جهان منصوب شدند.

 THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY PRESIDENTS (IAUP)

IAUP, is an association of university chief executives from higher education institutions around the world. The IAUP was founded in 1964 in Oxford. Membership is limited to those individuals who serve as presidents, rectors or vice-chancellors at regionally accredited colleges or universities. The primary purpose is to strengthen the international mission and quality of education of higher education institutions around the world. IAUP’s mission includes providing a worldwide vision of higher education, sponsoring effective networking between university leaders, and promoting peace and international understanding through education. The IAUP partners with the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, the American Council on Education, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific, the World Academy of Art and Science, the European Universities Association, the International Association of Universities, the United Nations Department of Public Information, the World Bank Research Alliance for Development, the UNESCO, the Union of Mediterranean Universities, and Universities Australia.

The President of Caucasus University, Professor Dr. Kakha Shengelia was elected the President of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) on July 8, 2017.
